- Concept of Subtainabal Development
The Subtainabal Development is defined as a type of Development which meets need of present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
Every step of development meets the needs of presence. But sustainable development process consider three important needs for the development. They are a under :
(1). Social Needs
(2). Economic Needs
(3). Environment Needs
Every development activity should be checked for above requirements in following manners.
1). Whether the development meets the social Needs?
2). Whether the development is economical?
3). Whether the development meets the Environmental needs?
To clarify further let us take an example of mobile phone development. The mobile phones definitely meet first and second Needs. But Environmental needs have been questioned. The electromagnetic waves. The waves have negative impact on our health. Hence it fails to meet the Environmental needs.
The Government of India is considering to pass some regulations to control the electromagnetic emissions from mobile towers.
Natural Resources :
Natural resources include air, water, forests, fishes, Marine life, biomass, fossil fuels, like coal , petroleum and natural gas, wild life, renewable energy sources like solar energy, wind power, Biomass energy, geothermal energy etc.
Prosperity of a Nation is dependent on the natural Resources available in the nation.
Important of Natural Resource :
There are two types of natural Resources:
(A). Biotic Resources
These are living resources and they have life form such as
1) Plants
2) Forests
3) 🐟 Fishes
4) Wild life
5) Animals
(B). Abiotic Resources
These are non living resources and do not have life forms such as
1) Land
2) Rivers, lake , mountains
3) Minerals
4) Fossil fuels
5) Metals
6) Glaciars and oceans
All the natural Resources are inorganic or organic but they are non living.
