Forests as Natural Resource


The forests are the most important biotic component of natural resources. All kinds of life forms directly or indirectly depends on the forests. The forest cover on the Earth means the land on which forest exit. Due to destruction of the forests.
The forest cover on the Earth is destroyed. There are many types of 🌲 and Plants in the forest depending Upon their climate, temperature, rain fall , soil etc.
The forest cover on the Earth can be seen from satellite pictures of Earth. Due to development of technology , industrialisation  and population explosion. This forests cover on the Earth is now getting very much reduced.

Types of Forests in India




There are varieties of Forests in Indian sub containent. The forest are classified based on topography of land , climate, types of soil, height from mean sea level and rainfall , primarily, there are six types of Forests in India.

1) Tropical rain forest

2) Dry Tropical forest

3) Mountaine sub tropical Forest

4) Mountaine Temperate forest

5) Alpine forest

6) Dry Dessiduous

(1) Tropical rain Forest :

Tropical rain forest are seen at hot and humid regions where average rainfall various from 100 cm to 600 cm annually.
The trees are very tall , have big canopy and and their leaves in carried out.

(2) Dry Tropical Forest :

Dry Tropical forest are found at the foot hills of southern Himalayan to range and some portion of  state of Kerala.
They need annually rainfall around 51cms to 151 cms.

(3) Mountain Temperate Forest :

These verieties of forest are spreaded in mountainous regions at 1500m - 3000 m height in central and northern Himalayan rarge. About 200 cms annual rains fall is necessary.
The trees like ferns ,oak , maple ,pine devdar and chilgoza are comonaly seen in this type of Forests.

(4) Mountain sub tropical Forests :

These types of forest which are largely found in North - Eastern States like Manipur  , Mizoram, Nagaland meghalaya as well as South Western India. Important 🌲 trees are cinnaman punspaar ,
Rhododendrums,sal and Olives.

(5) Alpine forest : 

There are two types of Alpine forest. One is Alpine forest and another is sub Alpine forests. They are found at the heights of 3500 m in mountainous regions of Central Himalaya where summer temperature is 25°C and winter temperature is less than Zeero degree.
Black janipar , red - fur , birch , honey and vilo trees are seen in Alpine forest.

(6) Dessiduous Forests : 

Dessiduous Forests are mainly found in the regions of scanty rainfalls in the states like M.P. , Gujarat, Maharashtra , Karnataka and Tamilnadu. There are two types of Dessiduous Forests :

A) Dry Dessiduous Forests
B) Wet Dessiduous Forests
