Introduction of seismic
Engineering :
Seismic Engineering is a Branch of engineering discipline which covers Many aspects of earthquake science such as how earthquake are triggered, what are reasons of earthquake, how earthquake intensity is measured ,what types of vibration are generated during earthquakes, how earthquake are predicted and what the precautions and care should be taken during and after earthquakes so that minimum lives are lost etc.
Seismology is a science of earthquake but it's Human application is a seismic Engineering. It is very much imperative that science of earthquake i.e. seismic science must not remain confined to the scientist and experts but its preliminary Engineering techniques must be known to every student of engineering.
Forecasting earthquake :
Is it possible to forecast earthquake? Earthquake is a natural seismic phenomena propagating from the depth of the Earth. Even though seismologists and scientist are exploring the possibility of exactly forecasting the earthquake, it is yet not possible to exactly predict Time and date on which the earthquake may trigger.
Meteriologists can give forecast about rain.
Even though the exact time and date of the earthquake cannot be predicted, but some sort of seismic warning system have been developed.
