Types of Earthquakes :
The word earthquake is used to describe seismic activity of the Earth. An earthquake is a phenomena that is powered by sudden release of stored energy to the crust of the Earth or surface of the Earth that generate devastating Seismic waves causing loss of life and destruction of properties.
There are various types of earthquakes. Some of the known types of earthquakes as are below :
1) Earthquake due to tectonic activities below the Earth surface.
2) Earthquake due to volcanic activities.
3) Earthquake according to depth of hypo center the Earth surface.
4) Anthropogenic Earthquake.
5) Earthquake according to their intensities.
Causes of Earthquakes :
Main reasons for causing the earthquakes are as below.
1) plate tectonic movements
2) Volcanic activity
3) Anthropogenic causes
Precautions to be taken during and after earthquakes :
Earthquake is a natural disaster which can strike at any time. If we observe some of the simple instructions, it is possible to protect to protect ourselves during this disaster.
Instructions to be observed during earthquakes :
A) One should not be panicky during Earthquake. It is natural phenomena and will stop automatically.
B) Do not run here and there. If you are at home sit under the table or stand in between the door 'calmly'.
C) If you are in the school or college, sit down below desk or table.
