Engineering and Environmental issues

Engineering and Environmental issues:-

Engineering and technology development specially after industrial revolution has seriously affected status of Environment has generated many global level issues such as global warming, climate change, ozone layer depletion, atmospheric pollution etc.
Many world conferences and seminars are being organized to discuss such issues and arrive at common viable solutions.
As for example, United Nations conference of human Environment, world climate change conference, Earth summit and united nation frame work conventions on climate change are some of them.

Most important issues related to Environment due to development of engineering and technological
Activities are there follows :

A. Industrialization

B. Urbanization

C. Environmental pollution

     1) Air pollution
     2) water pollution
     3) solid waste pollution
     4) Land pollution
     5) Noise pollution

D. Green House effect

E. Depletion of natural Resources

F. Depletion of natural Resources

G.Desertification

H.Acid rain

I.  Depletion of ozone layer

J. Global warming

K. Climate change

Environmental Pollution:

The most serious issues generated due to process of industrialization is Environmental pollution.

Industries like metallurgical , chemical, textile, dying and bleaching, power plant and insecticides and pesticides manufacturing generate most dangerious pollution of all kinds in the atmosphere. Of course pollution control board of Government of India had strict rules and regulations like  setting up effluent treatment plant which treat the effluent or waste product coming out of indusries before they are released to atmosphere.

Environmental pollution :

Environmental pollution defined as contamination of Environment around Earth by the materials which badly affect humans health, quality of life and natural functioning of ecosystem.

(@). Fundamentally the pollutants are classified into two basics catagories.

(1) Bio-degradable pollutants

These are the organic or carbon based substance which can be decomposed by natural process and finally mix with environment.
As for example vegetables, food, materials and animals and human excretas.

(2) Non Bio-degradable pollutants

These are certain types of inorganic materials and plastic which do not decomposed into it's constituents and do not mix with environment of Earth.
As for example various types of plastic and pesticides like D.D.T.

Types of Environmental pollution :

1) Air pollution

2) Water pollution

3) Solid waste pollution

4) Land pollution

5) Municipal and sewage pollution

6) Noise pollution

Of course we shall discuss further about all these types of pollution.
